OK. We're set to go. It is Saturday in 8 minutes so that must mean it's time for a destash sale. Head on over to my Etsy shop and see if there is anything you can't live without. A few of the things you may find there:
Oops I did it again. Filled up two medium flat rate boxes FULL of Christmas and Fall fabric. And it's just for one of you. Same as last night. Head over to my Etsy shop and look in the Fabric/Destash section. If the Custom Listings for the Christmas and Fall Surprises are still there they are available to purchase. I only took one photo of the Christmas. First thing that went into the box was this 4 yard cut of Woodland Splendor 2 - a gorgeous metallic print. So at $25 for the FULL box you are getting a great deal:) Second pic is of the Fall box and has 15+ yards of great Moda fabric. First come, first serve...
I'm almost done so it's almost time. LOL I'll be a busy beaver tidying up loose ends and packing up the final of my destash selections. I thought I 'd share some of the questions I've been getting and share one last preview before the big day.
Q. Are you getting out of the quilting business?
A. No way! Trust me, I won't be short of fabrics even after selling all of these.
Q. These are so pretty. Are you really getting rid of them?
A. Yes! I think all my fabrics are pretty. I think most fabric is pretty. LOL That's how I got where I am today. I have TOO much pretty fabric. Couldn't possibly use it up in years and years.
Q. Can you really stop buying more fabric?
A. Probably not. Actually, no. I won't be able to stop:)
Sorting, packing. Sorting, packing. It's hard work but I'm starting to see the fruits of my labor. Space has suddenly become available in drawers and closets. Nice!
Some time during the evening while rooting through bins I decided to give my blog readers an early deal:) I packed FULL two medium flat rate boxes - one full of Christmas fabric and one full of Thanksgiving/Fall fabric.
What you don't get. Photos. I didn't take the time to measure fabric and take pictures. I simply sorted into two different boxes and I didn't stop until I couldn't fit one more thread in each box. It's a surprise. They weigh just under 8 pounds!! What you WILL get. Only quilt shop quality fabric. Each box has at least one piece large enough for backing (3+ yards) and then there are FQs, panels, other yardage etc. You will not be disappointed. Each box is $25 plus priority shipping.
I have put two custom listings in my Etsy shop - one for each box - and marked them for "Custom - For Golden Gate Blog Readers Only". Etsy customers won't buy them since they are marked Custom Order and I am not promoting on Twitter or in any other way. You readers are the only ones who know about them.
If you're interested, simply go to the shop and look in the Fabric/Destash section. If you see the listing, it is available for purchase. If it's not there, another blog reader got there first. Good luck!
If you do buy one, I'd love to hear back from you when you receive it!
This is harder than it looks! Today, while prepping more items to sell, several that I've had slotted for de-stash have made it back into storage. LOL But that doesn't mean I didn't add to the For Sale pile. Here are a few more "teases"...
If this exercise isn't motivation to keep my stash under control I don't know what is! My word. Will someone tell me what I was thinking. LOL The good news is that some great deals are about to come your way. And I am already creating some new space. Of course my sewing room is being ripped apart while I'm doing this but it's all for a good cause. Don't forget to check my Etsy shop starting Saturday. Check the Fabric/Destash section. Here is what I got done tonight:)
I love the comments I get when I post about my personal problems with an overflow of fabric. Despite the fact that many of you have the same problem you can hardly wait for my de-stash! LOL When I wrote yesterday, I completely forgot that PIQF is next week and for sure I will be attending. Good thing is that I normally don't buy a lot of fabric at quilt shows. I mostly go to get motivation for new projects and see all the amazing quilts on display.
Anyway, I cleaned out my local post office today of flat rate shipping boxes and envelopes as I get ready for the big event - this Saturday October 9, while it lasts, in my Etsy shop. I am already organizing and filling boxes. Trust me...you'll be getting some great deals. So stay tuned for some sneak peeks!
Today, one of my quilts (Origins by Basic Grey) was featured on the home page of Etsy as always it's an honor!
OK, don't laugh at this next part. Have you ever sworn to not order new fabric until you work through (at least) some stash? Fine. I hear the laughing from here. The short story is that I absolutely need to get some discipline going. I am being over taken by fabric. It's spreading out of my sewing room and into spare bedrooms and hall closets and several other good hiding places. This weekend I am going to do two things. One. I am going to make a pile of fabric to destash. Some I've had for awhile, some I never had a plan for using it in the first place. Two. I am going to create a list of at least 10 quilts for which I have all the ingredients and I am going to focus on getting those made BEFORE I order one more piece of fabric into this house...well, maybe only backing if I need it:) You heard it here first. Check back this weekend and see what I have going on. I figure if I write it here for you all to read I pretty much have to do it. You can all help keep me honest. LOL
